THE FINE PRINT

Privacy Policy

Effective July 19, 2026

Dealbreaker has no user accounts and does not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or payment details. Your app data is stored on your device and backed up to your own iCloud account. Trainlike Studios Inc. cannot access that backup. Dealbreaker does send anonymous usage, subscription, and crash-diagnostic information to the service providers described below.

Who is responsible

Trainlike Studios Inc., a British Columbia company, operates Dealbreaker and is responsible for the information Dealbreaker processes. Privacy questions and requests can be sent to hello@getdealbreaker.app.

Data you enter

Dealbreaker stores the information you enter or create in the app, including onboarding answers, usage estimates, goals, streak dates, tab amounts, and logged events. The working copy is stored locally on your device. Trainlike Studios does not operate a server that receives this information.

iCloud backup

Dealbreaker stores one small JSON backup of your locally entered app data in your private iCloud account using Apple's iCloud key-value storage, also called NSUbiquitousKeyValueStore. Apple syncs that backup across devices signed in to your iCloud account. Trainlike Studios cannot read, query, or aggregate it. Your use of iCloud is also governed by Apple's terms and privacy practices.

Deleting Dealbreaker from one device deletes the local copy on that device, but may not delete the backup from iCloud or copies restored to another device. You can manage app data stored in iCloud through your Apple device and iCloud settings. Reinstalling Dealbreaker may restore the backup.

Screen Time and Family Controls

Dealbreaker uses Apple's Screen Time and Family Controls frameworks to put a blocking wall in front of apps you select. This happens on your device. The specific apps you choose are held by the operating system as opaque tokens; Trainlike Studios does not receive them, and does not receive your app-usage history, browsing activity, or the contents of other apps. Apple does not provide Dealbreaker with usage durations; time figures shown in the app are estimates you entered yourself.

App analytics

Dealbreaker uses Mixpanel to understand how people use the app and to improve its features and reliability. Dealbreaker sends interaction events and a small set of non-identifying properties that describe how you use the app: an automatically generated anonymous identifier, standard app and device information, your subscription status, the dating services you chose during setup, your self-reported usage frequency and time estimates (as rounded amounts), your goal amount, and your streak and activity counts. Depending on Mixpanel's handling of a request, network information such as an IP address and approximate location derived from it may also be processed.

Dealbreaker does not send Mixpanel your name, email address, contact information, the contents of your iCloud backup, the specific apps you chose to block with Screen Time, or the free text you type such as a goal's name. Trainlike Studios does not use Mixpanel for advertising or to track you across other companies' apps or websites.

Crash and diagnostics

Dealbreaker uses Sentry to receive crash and error reports so problems can be found and fixed. When the app crashes or hits an error, Sentry receives diagnostic information such as the error and a stack trace, the app version, and device and operating-system details. Dealbreaker configures Sentry so that it does not attach identifying user or device information, and does not use it for performance tracking or advertising.

Subscriptions

Apple processes purchases through your Apple ID and handles payment and subscription management under its own terms and privacy policy. Dealbreaker does not receive your payment-card details.

Dealbreaker uses RevenueCat to validate purchases and determine whether Dealbreaker Pro is active. RevenueCat processes an automatically generated anonymous app-user identifier, App Store receipt and purchase history, subscription status, and limited app and device information needed to provide and analyze the subscription service. Dealbreaker does not attach a name, email address, or Dealbreaker account to that identifier.

Content and notifications

The app may fetch static content, such as articles, over HTTPS. Like any network request, the hosting provider may temporarily process technical request information such as an IP address. Dealbreaker does not include your locally entered app data in these requests.

Notifications are scheduled locally on your device. Dealbreaker does not register for or send push tokens, and Trainlike Studios does not operate a notification-scheduling server.

This website

This website may use Umami, a privacy-focused, cookieless analytics service, to understand aggregate traffic such as page views, referrers, and general browser, device, and approximate-country information. Umami does not set cookies, does not collect personal information, and does not track you across other websites; technical details such as your IP address are used only to derive this aggregate data and are not stored to identify you. The website's hosting and security providers may also process ordinary request information, including IP address, browser type, requested page, and request time, to deliver and protect the site.

Why the information is used

Trainlike Studios uses the limited information it receives to provide subscription access, understand feature usage, maintain security, diagnose problems, improve Dealbreaker, and comply with legal obligations. It does not sell personal information.

Service providers and processing locations

Apple, Mixpanel, Sentry, RevenueCat, Umami, and website infrastructure providers process information for the purposes described above. They may process information outside British Columbia or Canada, including in the United States, where different laws may apply. Their handling of information is governed by their contracts with Trainlike Studios and their own privacy terms.

Retention

Local and iCloud data remains until you delete it through the app, your device, or your iCloud settings, subject to Apple's backup and retention practices. Mixpanel, Sentry, and RevenueCat retain information according to Trainlike Studios' service settings, operational needs, and legal obligations. Trainlike Studios keeps provider data only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy.

Your choices and requests

You can stop future analytics and crash collection by stopping use of or deleting the app. You can manage the iCloud backup in your Apple settings and manage the subscription in your App Store settings. You may ask to access or correct personal information under Trainlike Studios' control, or ask questions about deletion, by emailing hello@getdealbreaker.app.

Because Dealbreaker has no accounts and does not collect contact information, Trainlike Studios may be unable to connect an anonymous Mixpanel or RevenueCat identifier to you unless you provide that identifier or other information sufficient to locate the record. Trainlike Studios may need to verify a request before acting on it.

Security

Trainlike Studios limits the information it receives and uses service providers that maintain technical and organizational safeguards. No storage or transmission system is guaranteed to be completely secure.

Children

Dealbreaker is not directed to children under 13. Trainlike Studios does not knowingly collect contact information from children. A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided personal information can contact hello@getdealbreaker.app.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new effective date. Material changes will be explained in plain language or communicated through the app when appropriate.
